Jenna Wood is a licensed educational psychologist with a passion for helping others. She has been a school psychologist for 13 years, and has prior experience as an ABA therapist. She has a diplomate in school neuropsychology, which empowers her with the ability to apply a neuropsychological lens to her assessments.
At a young age, Jenna had a passion for working with children, then it exponentially grew when she had the opportunity to work with individuals with disabilities. She worked as an applied behavior analysis (ABA) therapist in the home setting for years while training to become a school psychologist. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Development, from UC Davis. She then attended Chapman University, where she earned her Master of Arts degree in Educational Psychology and Education Specialist degree in School Psychology. She also holds her diplomate credential in school neuropsychology. Now, after serving the school districts for over a decade, it is her mission to expand that support to families in her community with her license in educational psychology.
For the past 13 years, Jenna has served as a school psychologist in two districts, working with students ranging from two years old to 21 years old. She has worked with a variety of disabilities, including autism, ADHD, intellectual disability, learning disabilities, dyslexia, anxiety, Down syndrome, emotional disturbance, and more. She has countless hours of experience in conducting psycho-educational assessments, applying solution-focused brief therapy or cognitive behavioral therapy techniques in counseling, conducting functional behavior assessments, developing behavior plans, using the Zones of Regulation for emotional and behavioral support, creating social stories, teaching social skills, and consulting with educators and families.
Jenna has served as a leader in her district as school psychologist department co-chair. She has also served as a leader in her community as president and board member of the Orange County Association of School Psychologists (OCASP). Such leadership has provided her with the opportunity to lead presentations and trainings, and work with current and incoming school psychologists. She is very active in her community and enjoys donating her time to community organizations such as Boys and Girls Club of Huntington Valley and Kiwanis of Huntington Beach. Her number one job is being a mother to three children and wife to her husband Shawn Wood, who shares her passion of serving the community.
